The Poker Outs Calculator calculates the probability and odds of completing a drawing hand on the turn, on the river, and by the river based on the number of outs you enter.
Poker draw probabilities change from one street to the next because the number of unseen cards changes. After the flop, there are 47 unseen cards when calculating the turn. If the turn misses your draw, there are 46 unseen cards remaining when calculating the river. When both cards are available, the calculator determines the combined probability of hitting at least one of your outs by the river.

Enter the number of outs, current pot size, and cost to call, and the calculator will calculate your turn probability, river probability, probability of hitting by the river, and the corresponding odds against. It will also calculate your pot odds and break-even percentage so you can compare the price of the call with the mathematical probability of completing your draw.
Because calling a flop bet may purchase only the next card, while an all-in or other closed-action situation may guarantee both the turn and river, the calculator evaluates those conditions separately. It shows whether the call is mathematically correct based on the next card alone and whether it is mathematically correct when both remaining cards are guaranteed.
This calculator provides the mathematical comparison only. It does not account for opponent ranges, dirty outs, implied odds, reverse implied odds, future betting, or other strategic and situational factors that may affect the actual decision.

HOW TO USE THE POKER OUTS CALCULATOR
The Poker Outs Calculator calculates drawing probabilities one street at a time and compares those probabilities with the price you’re being offered to call.
Enter three values:
- Number of Outs — the number of cards you believe will complete or improve your hand.
- Current Pot Size — the amount already in the pot before you call.
- Cost to Call — the amount required to continue in the hand.

HOW THE STREET-BY-STREET MATH WORKS
After the flop, there are 47 unseen cards.
If you have 9 outs, your probability of hitting one of those outs on the turn is:
9 ÷ 47 = 19.15%
The corresponding odds against are:
38 ÷ 9 = 4.22 to 1 against
If the turn misses, there are now 46 unseen cards remaining.
Your river probability becomes:
9 ÷ 46 = 19.57%
And the corresponding odds against are:
37 ÷ 9 = 4.11 to 1 against
CALCULATING THE PROBABILITY OF HITTING BY THE RIVER
When both the turn and river are available, the calculation must account for the possibility of missing both cards.
With 9 outs:
Probability of missing the turn:
38 ÷ 47
Probability of then missing the river:
37 ÷ 46
Multiply those together:
38 ÷ 47 × 37 ÷ 46 = approximately 65.03%
That is the probability of missing both streets.
Subtract that from 100%:
100% − 65.03% = 34.97%
So with 9 outs, the probability of hitting at least one of those outs by the river is approximately:
34.97%
The corresponding odds against are approximately:
1.86 to 1
HOW THE POT ODDS COMPARISON WORKS
Suppose:
Current Pot = $100
Cost to Call = $50
Your pot odds are:
$100 ÷ $50 = 2 to 1
The break-even percentage is:
$50 ÷ ($100 + $50) = 33.33%
That means your mathematical probability must be at least 33.33% for the call to break even under the conditions being evaluated.
NEXT CARD ONLY VS BOTH CARD GUARANTEED
This distinction is critical.
If your $50 call buys only the next card, then the relevant draw probability is the turn probability:

But if the remaining action is closed—for example, the money is already all-in—and your $50 call guarantees that you will see both the turn and river, then the relevant probability is:
34.97%

The same draw can therefore produce two different mathematical answers depending on whether the price being paid buys one card or two.
IMPORTANT: THE CALCULATOR ASSUMES CLEAN OUT
The Poker Outs Calculator assumes every out entered is a clean out.
It does not determine whether an apparent out could also improve an opponent to a stronger hand, whether some outs should be discounted, or whether additional cards may create reverse implied-odds problems.
Those are hand-specific judgments.
The calculator’s job is narrower:
