POKER IMPLIED ODDS CALCULATOR

Pot odds tell you whether the money already in the pot justifies a call. Implied odds extend that calculation by considering additional money you may win on future streets if you complete your drawing hand. The Poker Implied Odds Calculator determines how much additional opponent money you need to win on future streets for the math to support the current call.

This matters because a call not justified by immediate pot odds may still become mathematically profitable if you can win enough additional money after the drawing hand is completed.

Poker Implied Odds Calculator for determining how much additional opponent money is needed on future streets to justify a poker call.

By calculating the amount of future money required, implied odds give you another mathematical factor to consider when deciding whether to continue in the hand.

Poker Implied Odds Calculator

Calculate how much additional opponent money you need to win on future streets.

Enter the amount currently in the pot, including the opponent's current bet.
Enter the amount you must call to continue in the hand.
Enter Your Drawing Probability
Enter the probability directly or calculate it from your number of outs.
Enter the number of cards you believe will complete your drawing hand.
About Outs: The calculator uses the number of outs entered to determine the probability of hitting one of those cards. It cannot determine whether every out will produce the winning hand.

HOW TO USE THE POKER IMPLIED ODDS CALCULATOR

Start by entering the current pot size, including the opponent’s current bet, followed by the amount you must call to continue in the hand.

Next, enter the probability of completing your drawing hand. You can enter the probability percentage directly, or select Number of Outs and enter the number of outs you believe will complete your draw.

When using outs, select the street on which the decision is being made:

  • Flop to Turn: 47 unseen cards
  • Turn to River: 46 unseen cards

Select Calculate Implied Odds. The calculator will show your immediate pot odds, the probability required by those pot odds, your drawing probability, and the hand odds against completing the draw.

Most importantly, the calculator determines the Additional Opponent Money Needed. This is the amount you would need to win from your opponent or opponents on future streets for the current call to reach the mathematical break-even point.

You can then use Compare Your Estimate. Enter the additional opponent money you believe you can realistically win if your drawing hand is completed.

The calculator compares your estimate with the amount mathematically required and shows whether your estimated implied odds support the call.

For example, if the calculator determines that you need to win another $55.56, and you believe you can reasonably win an additional $125, your estimated implied odds support the call. If you expect to win only $40, they do not.

The amount you expect to win is ultimately an estimate based on the hand and the players involved. The calculator provides the mathematical requirement so you can compare that requirement with your assessment of the likely future action.

IMPLIED ODDS EXAMPLE

Suppose there is $150 in the pot and you must call $50 with a nine-out draw on the turn.

Your immediate pot odds are:

$150 ÷ $50 = 3-to-1

A nine-out draw with 46 unseen cards has a 19.57% probability of completing on the river, or approximately 4.11-to-1 against.

The immediate 3-to-1 pot odds are not sufficient for a draw that is approximately 4.11-to-1 against completing.

However, implied odds allow us to determine how much additional money would need to be won if the draw completes.

At 4.11-to-1 against, a $50 call requires approximately:

4.11 × $50 = $205.56

There is already $150 in the pot.

$205.56 − $150 = $55.56

You therefore need to win approximately $55.56 in additional opponent money on the river for the call to reach the mathematical break-even point.

The remaining question is no longer simply whether the immediate pot odds justify calling. It becomes:

If the draw completes, can you reasonably expect to win at least another $55.56 from your opponent or opponents?

Say your estimate is $125, the implied odds support the call. If you believe only another $40 is realistically available, they do not.

This is where the mathematics of implied odds and your assessment of the players at the table come together.
